Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality Internet service that is available. The purpose of our Acceptable Use Policy is to help ensure that, and to to protect you from illegal activity on the Internet. You must agree to follow these guidelines before using your Networks On-Line account. Networks On-Line is solely responsible for determining if a violation of the AUP has occurred. If Networks On-Line becomes aware that one of its users is in violation of this AUP, Networks On-Line reserves the right to suspend or terminate service without notice. Time & Login Restrictions Dial-up accounts may only be logged in one
session at a time. Multiple sessions are not allowed without special permission from
Networks On-Line. Email and Newsgroups Using your Networks On-Line account to send unsolicited email is strictly prohibited. It is important to understand that there is no acceptable limit or restriction on the number of email messages that may be sent using your account. Our only requirement is that we receive no complaints about your email. Any and all complaints will be reviewed. It is unacceptable to use an account with another provider to promote your Networks On-Line hosted website, or any other service, in an abusive manner. Posting commercial content to newsgroups that do not explicitly allow that is prohibited. This is the case for the majority of newsgroups on the Internet. Cross-posting or posting the same article to several newsgroups is prohibited. To read about spam and how to fight it, you can go to http://spam.abuse.net. IRC No IRC bots may be run using your Networks On-Line account. You also agree to follow the guidelines set forth by any IRC network that you connect to with your Networks On-Line account. Network Abuse This system is for the use of authorized users only. Individuals using this computer system without authority, or in excess of their authority, are subject to having all of their activities on this system monitored and recorded by system You are strictly prohibited from using your Networks On-Line account to launch any type of attack or deny service to any Internet host. We will cooperate with anyone reporting such an attack and locate the abusive user. This type of activity will almost always result in account termination. You accept full responsibility for your Networks On-Line account and how it is used. For this reason you should make certain that you password is kept secret, and that nobody has access to your account. Customer Notification Notification of system maintenance and other important information will be sent via e-mail to all customers. Customers are therefore encouraged to check their e-mail fairly frequently to ensure that they receive important updates. If you do not check your Networks On-Line account, please call and make arrangements for your email to be forwarded to the email address of your choice. Backup of Data Networks On-Line will perform daily backups of home directories for all Virtual Web Hosts and users paying for Shell Access. Home directories for Dial-up accounts will not be backed up. You are responsible for any data you may store in your home directory. Billing and Invoicing For check paying customers, invoices will be mailed 20 days before the due date. If payment is more than 10 days late, the account may be deactivated without notice until payment is in hand. In addition, a late payment charge may be assessed. There is a $25.00 charge for insufficient funds on bad checks. Refunds or pro-rations are available only on unused months. Cancellation of Service To cancel service Networks On-Line requires 30 days written notice. This can be provided via fax, e-mail or US mail. If the account is a commercial account, the cancellation notice should be printed on company letterhead with a contact name for validation of the request. To put it another way, this system is for the use of authorized users only. Individuals using this computer system without authority, or in excess of their authority, are subject to having all of their activities on this system monitored and recorded by system personnel. In the course of monitoring individuals improperly using this system, or in the course of system maintenance, the activities of authorized users may also be monitored. Anyone using this system expressly consents to such monitoring and is advised that if such monitoring reveals possible evidence of criminal activity, system personnel may provide the evidence of such monitoring to law enforcement officials. Anonymous FTP users: Note that all transfers are logged. If you do not agree with this policy, then you should disconnect immediately.
